I cleaned out as much grime and crud from it wanted. Seems OK, not perfect. I did not retest it after removal. Brass has residual paint, varnish, corrosion and light scratches.
Beautiful 1922 Ashcroft Sprinkler Water Gauge 5.25 diameter face and a 5.625 bookplate. Very heavy and nice looking. Item is used, and I cannot guarantee it will still work. Most of the paint has been gently cleaned off.
You can keep polishing it, or leave as is. It was recently taken out of service from a working 1922 6 Alarm Check Valve riser. The 1/4 tee and plug are stubborn will not twist out. Original glass.
The bezel removes easily. I decided not to force them out. White paint covered much of it and the 1/4 tee with plug.
